Ponds-eye Pupils

(Becoming a Naturalist Part 32.)

Early morning pondside      liquid eye echos light into pondweed      

into eyelash rushes      brightens tiny eyes brass and gold     

pupils black      and here I am a pupil            in a little frog’s pupil      

and together we are pond’s-eye                                 -tutored pupils.
